heavily over moderated and dominated by Nancy Olson who worked for the council on alcoholism for many years. She censored (refused to post to her web) my posts and also Dick B's posts regarding AA History. She is very good at cut and paste research so what ever is on your webs will soon be on her site without your permission. She was very unhappy when she saw my reprints of the 4 absolutes (pdf) and the reprint of the early AA Akron Pamphlets in .jpg digtal image format: oh...they are only pictures...meaning she could not cut and paste them to her webs without asking. There is some good stuff on the site but don't be expected to be allowed to participate!!
Update: Dec 26 2000. In June or so Nancy had written me an email in response to this paragraph about her moderation of the aa history egroups. She was pleased to have the publicity and exposure---
but what she did was go in and REMOVE and DELETE all of my posts to her egroup!!! Including every link to my aa history website that were in my posts to her egroup. What a control freak!! Sounds like an alcoholic to Me!! (though she is not one) However it is very unprofessional and certainly not within the confines of the open spirit of the web and net. Freedom of expression certainly does not exist in her egroup....however her cut and past research methods still continue.
I have had email from several others who are no longer participating in her group. We need an unmoderated aa history egroup!!!
