Its sure nice to see you getting involved in group activities, (service work). It will prove to be very beneficial to you and countless others who you will never know about.

You may consider reading the below list of literature as soon as you can. You will enjoy some of it I'm sure like Dr. Bob and the Good Old Timers. It has a lot of history and humor and is a easy, enjoyable reading book.

The reason for this suggestion of reading is to gain knowledge which will aid in the avoidance of silly, stupid problems which are, I believe, usually due to ignorance of our TRADITIONS. To truly understand our traditions needs more then reading about them in The Twelve and Twelve. Other readings concerning our life saving fellowship will enhance our sobriety, our knowledge of A.A., thus our contributions to our fellowship.

Following is a minimum alphabetical list of Conference-approved books and pamphlets that you may want to consider having in your library:

Books

A.A. Service Manual/Twelve Concepts For World Service

Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous Comes of Age

Dr. Bob And The Good Old Timers

Pass It On

Twelve Steps And Twelve Traditions

Pamphlets

A.A. Tradition--How It Developed

It is in everyone's interest for us in the fellowship to get all Conference-approved literature and read it, not just the above.

The more accurate knowledge we have, the better informed we are, thus our contributions will prove to be sound.
