This is a collection of sermons intended to stimulate Christians and non Christians alike. The preachers do not represent any particular school of theology. While the selection of preachers is varied, the preachers of particular interst include:The Hallowing of Work Rev. Leslie D. Weatherhead, MA
Christ and the Poor by Hugh Redwood
I Believe by Beverley Nichols
The God-Controlled Life by Rev. Howard Rose, MA
The Victorious Life by A.J. Russell
There is also one more sermon by an author found in Dr. Bob’s personal library, The Mystic Voice by Rev. W.E. Sangster, MA.
This list of preachers were friends of the Oxford Group, each having written at least one book of the Oxford Group. Their books on the principles of the Oxford Group included: How Can I Find God? By Leslie D. Weatherhead; The Quiet Quest by Hugh Redwood; The Fool Hath Said by Beverley Nichols; The Quiet Time by Howard Rose; One Thing I Know and For Sinners Only by A.J. Russell.
A.J. Russell’s book “For Sinners Only” was listed on all Oxford Group reading lists as a primary book to read and was widely read by members of the Oxford Group and many early AA members. The Oxford Group is where Bill W. first found sobriety prior to meeting Dr. Bob in 1935 and the eventual founding of Alcoholics Anonymous. Both Dr. Bob and Bill, as well as many early AA members attended Oxford Group meetings in the early days of AA.An excellent opportunity fora collectionof AA related material.
